February 12th, 2021 marks a new year in the Lunar Calendar, more traditionally known as “Chinese New Year.” This coming year is the year of the ox. Believed to have arrived at the party first, but tricked and beaten by the rat at the last moment, the ox is the second animal in the zodiac cycle.⠀
⠀
During the days leading up to and past New Years Day, there are many festivities and traditions that have been practiced for thousands of years. A few common traditions include; lighting of firecracker / fireworks, visiting and dining with family and friends, handing out red pockets (hóngbāo), cleaning up clutter and old material goods from your household, praying at the temple, and of course, buying new threads to ring in the new year.⠀
⠀
To acknowledge the long history of the cultural tradition, we are celebrating Chinese New Year “Hypebeast” style.⠀
⠀
Below is the full editorial for the style and fit to ring in the new year.
